1951 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN
VERY RARE....GM of Canada documentation 1 of 426 this model!!
Know what you are getting - not a fresh paint job that shows the problems in a couple of years. So well done it is still in exceptionally good shape after over 20 years since the original restoration with only minor clean up where some primer to primer bond failed and a scratch on rt rear fender.
Many winters was not garaged but not driven. In family since about 1957, nut and bolt restoration frame off 1991-1993 to original. All parts acid dipped and etch primed in Glasurit epoxy primer. Body & frame blasted and epoxy coated electrostatically. Painted in Siekens. Fenders and frame 3 stage pearl.
With the original power train it wasn't that much fun to drive on the highway so restomod was done in 2008 with GM crate 385 fast burn, turbo 350 auto, pwr brakes, ft disc, trans Am rr diff, pwr strg, a/c, electric wipers, auxiliary fuel tank, trailer hitch,Coker white wide white wall tires on match painted chrome reverse and baby moons..Interior Vinyl headliner, front seat stock rebuilt, rear seat sideways folds out to bed..looks stock unless close inspection but will cruise nice @ 75mph plus. Now it’s FUN TO DRIVE!
40,000 miles since restoration including route 66 and to New York and PEI to Vancouver across Canada and trips to Phoenix etc.
Needs some work to clean up to Barrett but with less than $5000.00 it would be better than ones that are selling $50,000.00 to 75,000.00 and that's US dollars!
You don't want to buy this if you're not a social person because every time you stop, people come to talk! Would make a great vehicle for promotion of your business. Selling due to health reasons.
Recent king pins, tie rods, rear brakes, 3 new Coker tires, tune up, a/c compressor.
Flaws: Horn not working, A/C wiring (Kit included, new compressor & charged)) Hood mldg (new included) oil & temp gauges need replace, trans filler tube leak, dash panel paint flaws, W/S center mldg, tailgate latches & left cable retractor,r brake pedal pad, crack in paint on tailgate ( been this way since 2008 and no rust..paint under front floor mat, liftgate at hinges, front end rock chips, tint on rt rear side glass missing, on right turns brake pedal will sometimes stick.
