1971 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK - MAD MAX TRIBUTE
This 1971 Ford Mustang Fastback was delivered to the Dearborn plant DSO according to the Marti report so it didn’t go too far from the Ford plant where it was built. I found this car in Saskatoon in 2013 in storage for many years. It had sadly become a stalled project for a father /daughter.
This car had never been registered in Canada before we finished it in Aug. ‘14.
My son who is studying at University of Lethbridge (4th year New Media Fine Arts) took it upon himself to produce a Mad Max tribute film titled Badland; Road to Rust out soon on youtube. This car featured prominently of course in this 20 minute feature.
It has a 351 Cleveland H-code engine with Edelbrock performer intake, Edelbrock 4v carb, FMX auto trans, 2.75 9 inch rear gears for fairly high speed on the highway(naturally), and a reproduction 1970 Cleveland Ram Air Assembly
It's finished in SEM Hot Rod Black, new factory interior(all black) new suspension (springs/shocks, brakes etc,) Cragar Soft 8 rims with BF Goodrich radial TA’s . It features custom rear spoiler (20 degree rake) and front grille with plexiglass light covers(comes with spare set) professionally bench plasma cut by Wildrose Machining in Didsbury.
We put 1000 miles on this auto during the filming of Emerson’s film and it is a blast to drive. It only has a factory am radio but the sound of the cleveland through the dual 3 inch stainless steel exhaust is music by itself.
