When Muscle Cars ruled the earth, you didn’t need to use the whole name to describe the hottest cars of the day; a number, a letter or a nickname was often enough to get the message across. Cobra, SS454, Judge, Z/28, Six-Pack, and other all had names that said everything you needed to know. But one name stands out above all of the rest; Hemi.
The legend of the Hemi continues to grow, decades after they first terrorized the streets and the track. Rare when new, and still rare today, the 426 Hemi has always represented the pinnacle of American Muscle. Of all the cars that ever had a Hemi installed from the factory, none of them are as rare and desirable as the 1971 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda.
This B5 Blue ‘Cuda began life as a 340 4-speed car. Now with a Hemi with a 727 Auto, great care was taken to preserve the 4-speed floor and tunnel to make it easy to convert back.
This show quality 1971 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda represents the best of what Mopar offered from the factory, and much, much more. Formerly a part of one of Canada’s largest and most prestigious Mopar Collections, this car features top-level parts and workmanship throughout.
This original-panel, rotisserie restored B5 Blue edition rides on Chrome 20” inch wheels, which is a tip off as to what else is going on in and under this beast. Body panel fit is excellent, as is the attention to detail in the quality of the paint, trim and accessories. This car looks incredible from ten feet away, and even better the closer you look.
Updated running gear from front to back combines classic performance with new-car performance and reliability, and creates a car that is both a show-stopper and a street racing badass. Open up the Shaker hood, and you will find the Elephant in the room, a built, 600+ Horsepower Mopar Performance Hemi.
Upgrades include a custom camshaft and valvetrain, Mopar Performance Aluminum intake manifold, Dual-Four Barrel Carbs, MSD Ignition and more. The 727 automatic is similarly built to handle the extra power, with upgraded internals, and a high stall torque converter. Gears are shifted by and SCS Competition shifter, making gear changes under power a sure thing. Power goes back to a built Dana 60 with a Sure-Grip sending the tire-melting torque to both rear wheels.
Sit inside, and you are greeted by a full compliment of factory gauges in the Rallye dash, and a Mopar Tuff Wheel does the steering. Bucket seats and door panels are factory upholstered in black, matching the roof and billboard graphics on the exterior.
Taken as a package, this car is a rare opportunity to have one of the most desirable examples of any Muscle Car ever made, that can win shows, turn heads at cruise night, and take on any challengers at a stoplight or drag strip.
