2:15 PM SATURDAY FEATURE! 1969 FORD MUSTANG MACH 1
The vehicle is restored and customized. It is finished in the style of a restormod/Pro Touring show car. The 460 V8 engine replaces the factory 351 ci V8 and has been rebuilt with performance parts. High performance aluminum Cobra Jet cylinder heads are mounted to the engine block. Ford Motorsport polished aluminum valves are mounted to the cylinder heads.
A new high-performance 4 barrel carburetor is atop an after-market Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake manifold and new braided fuel lines. An after-market air filter canister is fitted to the carburetor. Chrome plating has been done to the alternator.
The power steering system has been upgraded to rack and pinion and includes a billet reservoir pump as part of a Billet Specialties high-grade pulley system used to run engine accessories. The cooling system has been upgraded with a 3 core aluminum radiator and the installation of twin electric fans. The top cooling hose is finished with flexible chrome steel tubing.
The electrical system of the vehicle has been upgraded with new components including wiring harness, an MSD Blaster performance coil and Taylor 8mm spark plug wires. A new pointless electronic distributor from Summit Racing finishes the electrical system.
The custom powder coated exhaust system includes headers, completely new dual pipes feeding into custom chrome exhaust tips at the rear of the car. A factory Ford C6 transmission is linked to the engine and is rebuilt with the use of the higher grade components including shift kit and torque converter. The differential is a heavy duty 9 inch Ford unit with a four link suspension.
The braking system has been upgraded with new brake lines and hoses and includes a new Wilwood four-wheel disc brake package. The front and rear suspensions of the vehicle has been completely redone with the fabrication and installation of new coil-over shocks and springs on the front and coil-over shocks in the rear including sub-frame connectors. Some components are powder coated and finished to a high degree of detail.
Paint and body work was completed in the United States. The work involved complete disassembly with body work done on a rotisserie. No considerable body filler rust or dents evident for its age. Front chin spoiler installed and a rear wing spoiler mounted to trunk lid along with rear window slats. Very good straight body finished to show quality.
Rubber weather stripping on doors, trunk lid area, front windshield and back window are in good as new condition. Window channel felts and rubbers are in good as new condition. A custom leather wrapped steering wheel is in place. The trunk of this vehicle is detailed and finished with a new mat.
The Mustang has become one of the hottest and most recognized resale cars on the market and will continue to appreciate in value. The Mustang is a collector car, a special interest car and above all is a very great driver as well.
